Pakistan: Horrific Video Footage Captures Aftermath of Lahore Suicide Attack

The death toll in a powerful suicide bombing in Pakistani city of Lahore has climbed to 26 with around sixty injuries, according to Punjab Police. The explosion occurred at an old vegetable market in the Kot Lakhpat neighbourhood in Lahore at around 3:55 pm local time on Monday. The bombing spot is busy areas close to the office of the Punjab chief minister.

DIG Haider Ashraf of Punjab Police told local media that the bombing was a “suicide attack” and that “police were the target”. The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has taken the responsibility. Several police officials were deployed in the area to remove squatter and street vendors occupying the public space.

Distressing videos and pictures that emerged from the bombing scene show civilians and security officials rushing to scene to tend to dozen of casualties and assist injured.
